ASIAN Games


  1. As the biggest multi-sport games after the Olympic Games, the Asian Games is the most prestigious event organized by the Olympic Council of Asia. Similar to the Olympic Games, the Asian Games are held every four years, with the 17th edition to be held in Incheon in 2014.
  2. The inaugural Asian Games took place in New Delhi, India, in 1951 with 11 countries competing in six sports. The 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, in 2010   featured 45 countries and regions competing in 42 sports, highlighting the growth of the Olympic Movement in Asia.
  3. The Asian Games Association has chosen Shining sun as its symbol.
  4. The AGF (Asian Games Federation) adopted ‘Ever Onward’, given by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, as the motto of the Asian games.
  5. The emblem of Asian Games is a ‘Bright full rising sun’ with interlocking rings.
  6. India Win Total 602 medals , 139 Gold , 178 Silver , 285 Bronze
  7. In 2014 Incheon editions India Won Gold 11, Silver 10, Bronze 57 and total 57 Medal
